Holy Saturday

“Let us pray to the Virgin Mary that she may help us, through the happy and sad events of this world, to firmly maintain hope in eternity and in the kingdom of God. Let us pray to the Virgin Mary, that she may help us deeply understand this truth: that God never abandons his children!” — Pope Francis

Reflection: Holy Saturday is the day to contemplate the tomb, of dealing with the reality of death for one while life continues for others. The Blessed Mother remained with the apostles while they came to grips with Jesus’ death and resurrection. What helps you to hold onto hope through both the happy and sad events in your life? Who do you know that is dealing with the death of someone close to him or her? How are you accompanying this person as he or she grieves?
