Youth Ministry

Goals for Ministry with Adolescents

Goal 1: To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
Goal 2: To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
Goal 3: To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

(Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops)

March for Life in Washington DC

The 2017 March for Life was held on January 27 in Washington, D.C.  The Gaylord Right to Life Affiliate once again coordinated the annual Red Eye Bus Trip to Washington D.C.

The March for Life began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, abortion.

In 2016, the Holy Spirit was ALIVE at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Steubenville, Ohio.   Our 170+ teens from the Diocese of Gaylord were on fire! Joy, peace, and healing took place. After the first night over 1,000 teens had received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. You could literally see God at work – the gymnasium was full of the Holy Spirit.

Quote from a St. Mary Cathedral teen: "This weekend was one of the best experiences of my life. As a young Catholic, I feel that this conference really helped me grow closer to God. The talks, the speakers gave were really inspiring. I think that every Catholic teen who has the opportunity to go should take it."
